Drinking pálinka has had a century-long tradition in Hungary, but nowadays we seem to be forgetting all about this. It is worth re-discovering this drink, of course, in its present-day form. Modern pálinka has a clear taste, a distinct fruit flavour, a light and sophisticated fragrance as well as a pleasant after-taste, therefore it deserves a place in gastronomy, just like wine.

Boldogkő-Fruit Kft. was founded by two young couples in 2003. The founding owners are truly dedicated to the renaissance of the pálinka culture: in Boldogkőváralja, which is their homeland, they are producing state-of-the-art products by using Hungarian raw materials and labour force.

Our company was established in Boldogkőváralja, in the first place, with the aim to produce premium-category, high-quality, own-branded Gönc apricot pálinka. Located in the Abaúj-Hegyköz small region, in the Hernád valley, Boldogkőváralja is a settlement with century-long traditions. We decided to apply the most advanced methods to produce pálinka. Our high-efficiency water bath distillery is new and already popular equipment in Hungary and at our business facility. For the time being, few pálinka distillers can boast such equipment in Hungary.

We started our activities in 2005 in the form of commissioned pálinka distillation, and in 2006 we also launched pálinka distillation on a commercial basis. Naturally, this required major technological developments: the project covered the acquisition of the machines, equipment and the tools that are required for the preparation, fermentation and packaging stages of the distillation work. As a result of the investment, we succeeded in entering the market with a range of pálinka products in excellent quality and bottled in an individual manner: the brand name “Bestillo” suggests quality and speciality right away when you hear it for the first time.

With a view to extending the product range (which covered Gönc apricot, traditional plum, Red William`s pear, dark cherry) in 2006 we introduced rare tastes like raspberry, blackberry, blackcurrant, quince and the truly exotic sloe. During the processing phase, the products are given no added artificial materials, and the by-products do not damage the environment either.
