Jonathan Apple Pálinka

Jonathan Apple PálinkaPálinka goes well with Hungarians at Christmas. This is the time when you can proudly offer your new pálinka to relatives, friends and acquaintances. BESTILLO Pálinka House is also happy to offer this year’s pálinka products, especially the one we’ve named Christmas apple pálinka, with reference to an old, near-forgotten Hungarian custom. We all know that apple is generally the symbol of unity, health, beauty, fertility and – of course – love.

Our ancestors attributed numerous magic roles to apple at Christmas. Girls used an apple for fortune-telling from Luca day; they got washed from an apple to seek health and beauty. Animals were also given water from an apple out of similar considerations.

One of our simplest and nicest customs is – at many places also today – that after dinner the head of the family cuts an apple into as many slices as the number of people at the table, saying: just like the round apple, the family should also form a unity next year, and those who get lost can return if they think back on the apple they ate together.

Thinking of this nice tradition at the festive Christmas dinner, let us clink our glasses filled with BESTILLO Christmas Apple Pálinka, with the wish that the family circle should remain together for a long time.
